Build / Get one
If you would like to get a 2.5F MultiTC PID temperature and also reflow oven / BGA rework controller kit set that consists of the next:
that is to get an assembled MultiTC PID controller Kit: picture, then please contact me at dr. Le Hung<hutale@gmail.com>.
Other things that are needed for full operation:
- 1 pc. 6-9V battery or power supply.
- 1 pc. or 2 pcs. solid-state relay (SSR). You can buy (or get from me) a manufactured solid-state relay or make one. Manufactured SSR-s has big (about 1 KOhm) input resistance, so to drive them well we have to use PWM sign driven by source voltage (that is a controller's 5V PWM sign is not enough). The MultiTC PID controller has a built-in MOSFET transistor amplifier to drive the SSR-s with source voltage. I bought some 25 A Taiwan FOTEK SSR-25 relays (picture) to try and these turned out to work well directly with MultiTC PID controller. Otherwise a solid state relay is very easy to be made. Years ago I designed and made a PCB that is based on a schematic plan of MOC3022 IC datasheet. Here are the PCB, the shematic plan and the positions of parts. This SSR was made to work with any PWM sign with 10-15 mA amperage limit. So if you want to use this home-made SSR with MultiTC, be sure to use an external resistance to limit the amperage flown through the MOC3022 IC's infrared emitting diode to 10-15 mA!
- 1 pc. heater (a normal heater; or an oven with top and bottom heating for reflow soldering; or a min. 75W halogen bulb (or an IR heater) and a pre-heater for BGA rework). It is important to insulate the heater / oven so it in can reach its maximum temperature fast. The heater can be insulated well with fiberglass or rock wool wrapped up by aluminum foil.
- Optionally: 1 pc. ventillator
- Optionally 1 pc. piezo buzzer (or speaker), if we would like to hear audio signals.
